Students who can attend Auburn must reside in one of the following participating school districts: Berkshire, Cardinal, Chardon, Fairport Harbor, Kenston, Kirtland, Madison, Newbury, Painesville City, Perry, and Riverside Local. Where do I get an application? Applications are available in the guidance office at your high school beginning in the fall. Applications are also available online at www.auburncc.org. Once you have completed the application, return it to your guidance counselor or to the Student Service Office at Auburn Career Center, along with your current high school transcripts. Initial deadline is February 25, 2011. After this date, students are selected depending on current openings. How many programs are offered at Auburn? Auburn Career Center offers over 20 programs within the following career cluster areas: Business/Management, Health Services, Human Resources/Services, Environmental/Agricultural, and Industrial Engineering. What is a daily schedule at Auburn Career Center like? On an average schedule at Auburn Career Center, juniors attend classes in the morning, 8:05am-10:53am, and then return to their associate schools for the remainder of the school day. Seniors begin their day at their associate schools and attend Auburn in the afternoon 10:53am-2:30pm. Is there transportation available from my high school to Auburn? Yes. Bus transportation is provided by all associate schools. Approved seniors, with proof of insurance, may drive to Auburn upon receiving a parking permit. How much does Auburn Career Center cost? Tuition is not charged for high school students. However, each program requires the purchase of professional tools and uniforms. Auburn works with families who need financial assistance. What if I play a sport or am involved in other extracurricular activities? Auburn Career Center encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities and every effort will be made to accommodate students’ schedules. Who should I call for more information?
