9/11 Memorial Year End Update 2010 : Page 8BUILDING THE COLLECTION New acquisitions to the Museum’s collection are helping to ensure a comprehensive archive of 9/11 history that will be critical educational and exhibition resources. As of December 2010, 1,056 individuals have contributed images and objects contained within the Museum’s comprehensive collection of 9/11 material. Our oral historians have recorded 420 stories of families, first responders, and survivors thus far. Our partnership with the national nonprofit oral history organization, StoryCorps, has resulted in the addition of 1,196 recordings to the Museum’s archives.
