9/11 Memorial Year End Update 2010 : Page 7BUILDING THE MEMORIAL MUSEUM Families Invited to Contribute to Memorial Exhibition The Museum launched a major initiative to invite the loved ones of the nearly 3,000 victims killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and February 26, 1993 to help create a permanent memorial exhibition. Letters were mailed to over 3,200 family members with information about how they can participate. As part of the exhibition, a sequence of individual profiles will present biographical information such as, age, place of birth and residence, employer, and career details, accompanied by photographs and audio remembrances. The memorial exhibition will celebrate each individual life through the remembrances of those who knew them best. The exhibition will allow visitors to come to know the true diversity and breadth of the losses sustained on 9/11 in a very personal and human way. The Museum has extended the deadline for making these contributions. Those wishing to contribute video, other objects or mementoes can contact Museum staff by calling 877-671-1636 (toll free) or email collections@sept11mm.org. newmuseumme.national911memorial.org Left: The “Wall of Faces” will convey the magnitude of loss.
